TIPS FOR YOUR SESSION
-
Don’t hold back. This may seem obvious, but sometimes it’s challenging to actually commit and let loose. I want your dynamic as a couple to set the tone and mood of the shoot, not what you think a session should look like.
Are you goofy? Then be goofy!
Are you a little introverted? Then enjoy the quiet moments. Are you touchy-feely? Get allll the snuggles.I want to experience all those little moments that might otherwise be considered the “outtakes.” Don’t act like you think you should, I want to capture you as you are. The most genuine images will come from the “outtakes.”
Every couple is unique and I want to capture those little quirks that make you, you. I promise I won’t try to fit you into a mold, I won’t force poses on you, and I’ll adapt my direction to fit your personality. In all honesty I’m just a laid back human that just wants to capture your love the best that I can. Remember that. I want you to feel as comfortable and excited as possible for your session! So, here are some tips and tricks that may help!

Dress comfortably, don’t feel like you have to “dress up” if that's not you. But if it is, then go for it! Most importantly, wear something you feel confident in. Whether that’s ripped up jeans or something dressy.
Okay, but what do I wear?
If you need help figuring out what to wear, I'm happy to offer my opinion. You can send me photos or ask me anything at anytime! You can also bring a few options and I'll help you pick two before we start our session. Some couples decide to dress it up and dance around in the grass in a flowy dress and bare feet. Other couples dress down all the way in shorts and a T-shirt. Just keep in mind the terrain for deciding what shoes to wear (or not to wear).

It’s definitely not just about the location, but its about how you fit into it. The setting, location, and weather will affect your mood, and the mood of the photos, drastically. So I want to make sure you’re surrounded by what you love. Whether that’s your own home, a foggy mountain top, or your favorite bar, do whatever the heck you want!

I can only capture you as you are if you actually let me! It's a team effort ;) Remember how you interact when you’re alone, and don’t hold back. Embrace both the belly laughs, and happy tears. Enjoy the quiet, vulnerable moments. I will, of course, guide you through all this as I photograph, but I need you to meet me halfway and allow me photograph your love at its fullest. I promise it will be so worth it.
Also, remember that I do this all the time! I'm literally a professional third wheel. So don't worry about making out in front of me or being affectionate and vulnerable. I just want to document how you feel when you're together. Simple as that.
Plus, TMI isn't even in my vocabulary.

You’re not there for me. I’m there for you: to document your love. The objective isn’t just to take pretty pictures. It’s to capture exactly how you are in this moment of your lives together. To reconnect & love on each other. It’s very likely that the last time you got your picture taken “professionally” was for an awkward high school photo or for super posed family portraits. I promise you, it will be nothing like that. So forget the photos, and focus on enjoying the next couple of hours together :)

You’re not going to be your sweetest, most genuine selves at the end of an errand-filled, stressful day. So take it easy all day! Grab lunch, get a drink, and relax together doing something you enjoy. Make a date of it. That way, when we meet for your session, you’re filled with love and excitement for each other, instead of just crossing one thing off the to-do list. When you look back on the photos I want you to remember that lovely day you spent together.
